Officers to benefit from workshops in Juvenile Justice Reform

Over eighty (80) members of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVFPF) inclusive of the Gazetted Officer’s corps will benefit from two (2) three-day training workshops in Juvenile Justice Reform.

The training which is part of the second (2nd) phase of the Juvenile Justice Reform Project will be facilitated by Her Worship, Mrs. Gloria Spetra-Augustus, a Magistrate from Dominica on assignment with the OECS Commission and assisted by Ms. Jozelle Miller, Clinical Psychologist in the Ministry of Health and the Environment.

The training will be done in three (3) phases. Phase one (1) will commence on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, and will cater  for the Gazetted Officer’s corps; phase two (2)  will run from February 7-9, 2018 and will cater for forty (40) officers from the rank and file; and the third will run from February 13-15 for the final batch of forty (40) officers.

The training sessions will take place at the Old Montrose Police Training School commencing at 8:15 am daily geared towards sensitizing law enforcement officers on Diversion, Rehabilitation and Re-integration of youths into the wider society.
