Fair Hall man hospitalised, could lose vision from cutlass wound

21 years old Enrique Charles from Glen community is now before the Court on two separate charges of entering the dwelling-house of Dave Williams of Fair Hall with intent to commit an offence and causing grievous bodily harm on November 28th, 2017.

Charles according to reports is said to have entered Williams’ home and inflicted cutlass wound to his forehead which resulted in him seeking medical attention at the Accident and Emergency Department at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

When he appeared at the Serious Offences Courts on Monday 4th, December before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne he was not allowed to enter pleas as the charges were laid indictable.  Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche objected to bail.

He told the Court that the victim is presently warded at the Male Surgical Ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and his condition is described as very serious and perhaps he may lose his eye.

 As a result, Williams was remanded into custody for seven days in the first instance after which time the Court would have an update on the health conditions of Williams.

Charles will return to Court on Monday, December 11th, 207 to have his bail reviewed.
