Detectives at the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested and charged Nigel Cain an unemployed of Sion Hill for the offence of robbery.
Cain is accused of arming himself with a firearm on November 17th, 2017 during which time he approached Latesha Williams of Rockies and deprived her of a cell phone, a purse containing $28.50 in cash among other things amounting to approximately EC$1,100.00.
Cain was escorted to the Serious Offences Court on Monday, November 20th before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne facing the indictable charge for which he was not permitted to enter a plea.
However, Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche strongly objected to his bail stating that Caine was in the habit of depriving persons of their belonging during the Christmas season and they needed to be protected.
Delpesche’s objection was upheld by the Chief Magistrate and Caine was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until January 12th, 2018 which the Preliminary Inquiry is expected to commence.
