(NEWSROOM GY) – An East Coast Demerara man was on Thursday afternoon killed by a swarm of African Bees which attacked him while he was walking along the Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara Public Road, heading to the market.
The man has been identified only as “Ramnarine” of 143 Block 8 Mon Repos. Residents told News Room that the bees were disturbed by a roaming cow which walked into a clump of bushes at the side of the road.
Today the man’s only son, Suresh Ramnarine said that he was at work when he received a call from someone in the community informing him that his father was stung by a swarm of bees and that he was dead and lying on the roadway.
He added that by the time he arrived at the location, his father’s body was already taken to the morgue.
