Jervany Baptiste a 22 years old young man from Rose Place is now before the Court on three separate charges of robbery, assault and resisting arrest on November 8th, 2017.
Reports are that on the date in question Baptiste used force and deprived an unknown visitor (a tourist) at Bentick Square of one bangle. He is also accused of assaulting and resisting arrest of the police officer who was in the area at the time of the incident
Baptiste was escorted to the Serious Offences Court on Monday, November 13th before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne facing the indictable charges to which he was not allowed to enter a plea.
Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche objected to bail in a stern manner stating that the tourism season has just begun and Baptiste is in the habit of committing such acts and also that investigations are continuing.
