Ottley Hall man pleads not guilty to assaulting two sisters with cutlass

Wendell Harry a 24 years old labourer from the community of Ottley Hall is now before the Court on two separate assault-related charges on August 28th, 2017 at Ottley Hall.

Harry was on Friday, November 3rd escorted to the Kingstown Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Bertie Pompey and pleaded not guilty to the charges of assaulting Monica and Easmie Harry both sisters of the same address.

Reports are that on the date in question Harry armed himself with a cutlass and assaulted the two sisters with intend to commit the offence of wounding.

The Court Prosecutor did not object to his bail which was allowed in the sum of $2,000.00 with one surety.

 The matters are expected to come up for hearing on November 20th, 2017 at the Kingstown Magistrate Court.

Meanwhile   (Stop and search in Sandy Bay nets quantity of marijuana)

A stop and search mission which was carried out by members of the Narcotic Division on November 1st, 2017 at London in Sandy Bay has led to the arrest of 27 years old Roger Tempro for possession of a  quantity of marijuana.

Tempro appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 before Senior Magistrate Bertie Pompey and pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of 63gms of cannabis.

It is reported that on the date in question Tempro was seen walking on the public road when Law Enforcement Officer approached him and requested a search to which he consented.

 It was during such time the drug was discovered in a plastic bag within Tempro’s pants pocket.  A fine of $500.00 was imposed upon him of which $300.00 is to be paid forthwith or face a 4 months jail term.  The balance of $200 is to be paid in one month or face another 4 months jail term.
