Police arrest two in Diamond Mass Shooting

Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Department based at Calliaqua Police Station have arrested two persons following a shooting incident that reportedly occurred at a shop in Diamond on October 14th, 2017 which resulted in the death of one male and gun-shots injuries to several other persons.

Alaski Samuel of Redemption Sharpes and Obandell Neverson of Murrays Village were on Tuesday, October 24th escorted to the Kingstown Magistrate Court before Senior Magistrate Bertie Pompey jointly charged for causing the death of Gregory Abraham of Diamond and attempted murder on Michael Richards of Choppins, Andrew Layne, Onaslin Thomas, Fitzroy Irish, Kaymanie Richards, Kerwin John, Karime Benjamin, Kenneth Barzie, Venus Thomas all of Diamond and Ricardo McFee of Villa/Redemption Sharpes.

Samuel and Neverson were not allowed to enter pleas as the charges were laid indictable and they were remanded into custody.

The matters were adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne on November 6th, 2017 when a date is expected to be set for the Preliminary Inquiry.
