President of the New Democratic Party Dr Hon. Godwin Friday and other senior members of the New Democratic Party has called on Vincentians to promote the vestibules of One love and to live as One Vincy.
Calling on NDP supports to redouble their efforts to advance the work of the party around the country. “We cannot do our work without you,” said Friday as he called for unity among members and stalwarts going forward in the battle to see the party regain political office in SVG.
“We in the NDP will go forth from today with vigor, to meet Vincentian, to start a dialogue with them, to let them know we in the NDP value their input, we value what they have to offer to this country and that we will help to deliver for themselves and the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines”.
This is our task, this is our duty, and as leader of the NDP I pledge that every waking moment I will not fail you, I will continue to look for solutions, but we must all do it together”.
Friday said funding the work of the party is visually important and challenging but he says the party must not throw up its hands in despair. He said there is tremendous goodwill in SVG and beyond for the NDP.
Friday also criticised the ruling ULP for over 300 unpaid workers at the recently closed Buccament Bay Resort.
Dr Friday says the ULP’s mantra is that the Argyle International Airport (AIA) will solve all the economic woes of SVG, However, the Opposition Leader noted that while we cannot allow the Airport to fail, it is not a panacea.
He cited the increases in taxes including the 1% rise in the Value Added Tax to 16%.
