(NYDAILYNEWS) Cops cuffed a Brooklyn man who admitted to raping his girlfriend’s 9-year-old daughter, officials said Friday.
Members of the NYPD Brooklyn Child Abuse squad arrested 29-year-old Phillip Payne after the child came forward claiming he had been raping her over the past two years, police said.
Payne also physically abused the victim’s younger 5-year-old sister in their Bushwick home, the child claimed.
The older girl told investigators that Payne — who lived with his girlfriend and her children — would punish her by ordering her to stand against the wall while he pushed nails into her palms — as if he was trying to crucify her, police sources said.
If she moved her arms, Payne would pinch her or beat her with a belt, she told police.
Investigators grabbed Payne on Thursday.
After being questioned, he made a full confession and was charged with multiple counts of rape, sexual misconduct, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and assault, officials said.
A judge ordered him held on $200,000 bail during a brief arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court Thursday night.
Payne has a criminal record that includes a dozen prior arrests, including selling drugs in 2004 and robbery in 2009, police sources said.
