Transatlantic crossing sponsored by Mirpuri Foundation

(CapeVerde) The Mirpuri Foundation sponsor’s of a transatlantic crossing organized by its founder, Paulo Mirpuri, will leave Mindelo, Cape Verde January 29th, and is expected to arrive in Barbados 7 days later.

The foundation has selected for this expedition a 21 meters Volvo Ocean Race high-performance sailing vessel, capable of exceeding 25 knots speed, four times faster than a typical sailing cruiser.

The boat, named ” Mirpuri Foundation”, was prepared for the crossing at a yard near Alicante, home for the Volvo Ocean Race organization, and has been positioned in Cape Verde for the event.

The journey will be covered on a daily basis by sailing specialist journalist Nysse Arruda.

Onboard “Mirpuri Foundation” and under Paulo Mirpuri command there will be a total of 8 crew members experienced in offshore racing plus 6 VIP guests which will fully participate in the handling and sailing of the boat.

The main goal is to raise awareness towards the Mirpuri Foundation’s activities and intervention domains.
