Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Deborah Charles, has expressed concern over the spate of violence in the Ottley Hall community in recent weeks.
Senator Charles In a statement said she is saddened by the recent spate of violence in the West Kingstown area, and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
Charles said the incidents appear to be isolated from the broader community, targeting a few individuals and she expressed the hope that the law enforcement authorities do their job to ensure that justice is served.
The latest incident saw Andy Garrick losing his life to multiple gunshot injuries at around 11:00 pm last week Thursday.
His death followed that of Shamelle Bowens who was killed in similar circumstances three weeks ago.
Community members told News784 that they would like the police to do more in removing the guns from young men in the area.
Residents have also been calling for a curfew in the area to help ease the situation.
