“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” Yes, Jesus said that the Father, God, has a Name that we should “hallow” or keep holy.
What is it? The name we proudly sing when we say: “I am under the Rock….JEHOVAH hide/guide me…” This name is in the Scriptures too. Examples: Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2; Isaiah 26:4. The shortened form of Jehovah is found at Psalm 68:4, i.e. JAH.
Some later translations have taken out the personal name of God and replace it with titles such as “Lord” and “God” in its place. But the older King James Version of 1611 has God’s name, JEHOVAH in the Scriptures cited above.
“The Divine Name King James Bible” has done a great job in restoring God’s name, JEHOVAH, in 6, 972 places where it was found originally. Please see this link for more information: http://www.dnkjb.
How Jehovah and His Son Jesus must be delighted to see this! Most important, Jesus declared God’s name continually. John 17: 6, 26. He did not hide it. He was proud to make God’s Name known. So no one should ever be ashamed to use or tell others God’s Name. Doing so, we follow Jesus’ example.
What better example could we follow than Jesus, the one second only to his beloved Father, Jehovah! John 14:28; 1 Corinthians 15: 27, 28.
